15 lemons, well scrubbed
2 (750 ml) 100-proof vodka
4 cups sugar
5 cups water
Wash the lemons with a vegetable brush and hot water to remove any residue of pesticides or wax; pat the lemons dry. Carefully zest the lemons with a zester or vegetable peeler so there is no white pith on the peel.
In a large glass jar (1-gallon jar), add one bottle of vodka; add the lemon zest as it is zested. Cover the jar and let sit at room temperature for at least (10) ten days and up to (40) days in a cool dark place. The longer it rests, the better the taste will be. (There is no need to stir - all you have to do is wait.) As the limoncello sits, the vodka slowly take on the flavor and rich yellow color of the lemon zest.
In a large saucepan, combine the sugar and water; cook until thickened, approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Let the syrup cool before adding it to the Limoncello mixture. Add to the Limoncello mixture from Step One. Add the additional bottle of vodka. Allow to rest for another 10 to 40 days.
After the rest period, strain and bottle: discarding the lemon zest. Keep in the freezer until ready to serve.
I have never made a bad batch, and it makes great gifts. Yields 3 quarts.

I don't know why I'm not in jill right now. I guess God protects women, children, and really dom drunks. I never knew you could get so wasted on table wine. My head hurts, and I'm pitting a whole pig right now. People due over in four hours, and I'm eight hours behind. I hope pizza hut is open today. My head hurts.

Off to Drink!
raring to go - and having bought only milk, eggs and a half-rack at the store - i started drinking immediately upon getting home. this was not exciting enough, however, so chris, ernie, serene, ian and i decided to meet up at the buckaroo tavern. on the way there, chris and i drank our cans (second and fifth
, respectively - i make quick work). on the way home, we kicked our cans loudly and ran afoul. the phone rang at 8:30 this am and was rightfully ignored. Current Mood: drunk

Goff, James? Goff, James? Hello, Goff, James?
So I went out with my pal Jim last night. He's one of those that are really awesome in general, but you have to watch out that you don't get sucked in. We hit up a place called die Bier stube. Very nice, not particularly smokey, not particularly expensive, especially considering beers come in liter steins, not measly pint glasses :D - I'm not really sure what it was that I was drinking, but it was dark and sweet and generally good. Good enough that I managed to keep up with Jim 1:2, which if you know how Jim drinks is respectable! I had a really good time, I haven't been satisfyingly buzzed like that in a really long time. Skål! Kippis! Cheers!
i'm not even sure if this is an appropriate post for the community but i am suffering from coffee withdarwals as i decided to qui t drinking it. it feels worse than a hangover but in many ways similar. i'll get drunk and post soon.
